Why Connect Splunk to AI?

Splunk is where security and ops teams search machine data: logs, events, metrics, alerts. When you need to investigate an incident, search for error patterns, or check alert status, you open Splunk Web, write SPL, parse results, switch back.

With an MCP server pointed at Splunk, AI agents can search your logs and run queries directly. Investigate incidents, check dashboards, and correlate events without context-switching.

Once connected, Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf can:

Security Model

DataFaucet connects through the Splunk Web UI. Access is scoped to whatever your Splunk role allows. If you have read-only search access, agents can only search. No Splunk tokens or API keys stored separately. Role-based access controls are respected.
