How It Works

1. Go to DataFaucet and enter your Okta admin URL (e.g. https://company.okta.com/admin)
2. Log into Okta with admin credentials
3. Browse users, groups, applications, and security settings as you normally would
4. Each API call becomes an MCP tool your AI can invoke
5. Deploy and connect to Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf

The AI agent gets whatever access your admin role permits.

Security Best Practices

• Read-only admin role — create a custom admin with "Read Only Administrator" privileges
• API token scoping — use a token with okta.users.read, okta.groups.read only
• No write operations — prevent AI from modifying users, resetting passwords, or changing policies
• IP restrictions — restrict the API token to your server's IP range
• Token rotation — rotate service tokens on a regular schedule

Getting Started

Set up read-only access for your AI agent:

1. Go to Security → Administrators → Create Administrator
2. Select "Read Only Administrator" role
3. Go to Security → API → Create Token with that admin account
4. Scope permissions to users.read and groups.read

Then point DataFaucet at your Okta admin console, authenticate with the read-only admin, and your AI agent can query identity data as MCP tools.
